An afternoon with Daddy

First we went to the pool place and had our water tested and bought some chemicals. Then we went to Marshalls and bought Max a desperately needed new Sox cap (dad scored a new Celtics cap!) and we ended up at Jordan's furniture where we bought organic milk and some pistachio ice cream. We watched the "watershow" too!

R.E.M. Concert!

At about 4:30 on Friday afternoon we found out we had 3 VIP tickets to go see REM. I saw them in Madison Square Garden in 1987 or 1988 with my buddy Steve Billings.

Things have changed in many ways;

So as we are walking into the concert, there in the parking lot was a bunch of guys tailgating drinking merlot in wine glasses....20 years ago those same guys would have been drinking beer or smoking a joint. GLASS WINE GLASSES...........

So there I am listening to songs from the 80's (to which you could barely make out the lyrics to at the time) - most of which the younger crowd didn't know, surrounded by a bunch of guys my age and slightly older - beer bellies, bald spots and receeding hairlines....certainly not the crowd that was there when I saw them in the 80's - THAT IS FOR SURE.

Maybe because many of them were there with their own kids. It may have been the whole VIP box seat thing where little waitresses walk around and take drink orders that threw me off - i dunno....maybe it was the VIP lounge where you could nibble on hors d'oevres or order a burger, nachos or salad...

FRIGGIN WINE GLASSES!!!!!

They really played well and Great Woods truly sounds amazing. Poe, who is not a "rocker" by any means, really enjoyed the show.

School Photo Time!!!!!

Home Depot Red Hawk!!!!

so I am sitting there waiting for the guy to exchange my propane tanks and I look up at the structure of the Reading Jordans Furniture and I see what I thought was one of those dummy owls to scare pigeons away.....

Very cool.
